About Us
Our Mission
We strive to provide a welcoming environment where our customers can purchase products and be inspired to enhance their health, their home and their peace of mind. Our employees are friendly, knowledgeable and loyal. What makes us different is we care about you and your garden. We will provide a rewarding and satisfying experience in the gardening and produce markets for our customers, our staff and our community.
- We are plant lovers just like you, and we want to treat your gardening needs like their our own.
- We buy “In Season” (you won’t see Strawberries at our stand in August) and “Native” plants and produce.
- We take great pride in our choice of vendors and are eager to make our customers happy.
- We benefit the consumer by offering locally harvested fresh fruits and vegetables that are naturally more flavorful and nutritious.
- We benefit the environment by reducing the food miles between field and table in our support for Pennsylvania farmers. In turn, open and productive farmland is preserved, carbon emissions reduced (lessening chemicals entering waterways) and fragile ecosystems are sustained.
- We aim to provide the best quality, selection and service possible to make sure each and every visit is an enjoyable shopping experience.
History
The Farmer’s Basket started on the very lot where it stands today nearly 30 years ago. What began as a roadside stand has grown into a full service Garden and Produce Center. Since the beginning, The Farmer’s Basket has been locally owned and operated, and it remains our goal to bring locally grown products to the Stroudsburg Community.
We work hard every day to provide you with the quality, selection and service that you expect and deserve. We realize that what has made our company successful is our customers, and we thank you for your patronage!
Our Staff
Our friendly, knowledgeable staff work hard to make sure that all of your questions are answered and needs are met. We want every customer to leave with a smile on their face!
